Students can write a script and then feed it to Xtranormal to produce ​animated films with characters acting it out. The free version allows users to create two-four characters that can be used over and over again with different scripts, backgrounds and physical movements. Students can conduct an interview with a historical character or explain a mathematical process.

Voki enables users to express themselves on the web in their own voice using a talking character. Customize your Voki to look like you or take on the identity of other types of characters. Your Voki can speak with your own voice which is added via microphone, upload, or phone. This a great tool for presenting concepts or giving speeches.

Collect and share group conversations with anyone in the world. Upload images, documents, and videos to create slides. Students navigate slides and comment in 5 different ways. Ideas for the classroom include commenting on a political cartoon or other image, completing a math problem, or telling a digital story. The downside to this site is that you can only create 5 Voicethreads for free.

This is an amazingly easy tool that lets you record anything, share it, and also search for useful podcasts within the Podomatic community. Your students can report on a topic or simulate an interview. Then they simply share their podcast url with you. Podomatic also has a great minicast tool!

This site requires no login but you have to copy your profile url and remember your password to edit!
